Andrea del Sarto (Andrea d'Agnolo)

Andrea del Sarto, born Andrea d'Agnolo in Italy in 1486, was a prominent painter of the Renaissance. He is renowned for his mastery of color and composition, which earned him the nickname "the faultless painter." Del Sarto's work is characterized by its emotional depth and technical precision, influencing subsequent generations of artists. He spent much of his career in Florence, where he created notable works such as the "Madonna of the Harpies" and frescoes in the Scalzo Chapel. Despite his significant contributions to art, he struggled with financial instability and is often overshadowed by contemporaries like Michelangelo and Raphael. Andrea del Sarto died in 1530, leaving behind a legacy that continues to be studied and admired.
