Andrea Previtali, known as Il Cordeliaghi, was an Italian painter born circa 1480 in Bergamo and died in 1528. Previtali was a prominent figure of the Venetian Renaissance, having been a pupil of Giovanni Bellini, which significantly influenced his artistic style. His works are characterized by their serene compositions and the use of vibrant color, reflecting the Venetian school's emphasis on colorito. Previtali's oeuvre includes religious altarpieces and portraits, with notable works such as the "Madonna and Child with Saints" housed in the Accademia Carrara in Bergamo. His contributions helped disseminate the Venetian style in the Lombardy region, bridging the artistic traditions of Venice and Northern Italy.
