Anthonie Palamedesz. was a Dutch painter born in 1601 in Delft, where he also died in 1673. He was a prominent figure in the Dutch Golden Age of painting, known for his genre scenes and portraits. Palamedesz. was particularly noted for his detailed and lively depictions of guardroom scenes and merry companies, which contributed to the popularity of genre painting in the Netherlands during the 17th century. He was a member of the Delft Guild of Saint Luke, which he joined in 1621, and served as its head multiple times, reflecting his esteemed position in the artistic community.
