Biography:

Bakhta, also known as Bagta, was an 18th-century Indian painter known for his exquisite contributions to the Rajasthani miniature painting tradition, particularly within the royal court of Devgarh in Rajasthan. Active from around 1761 to 1814, Bagta is celebrated for his vibrant and detailed depictions of religious and courtly themes, including scenes of Hindu deities, royal life, and local flora and fauna. His work is distinguished by its meticulous brushwork, vibrant colors, and intricate compositions, blending a keen sense of naturalism with the stylized aesthetics of Rajasthani art. Bagta's paintings, often created for the ruling Rajput nobility, reflect both devotion and the opulence of the era, making him a significant figure in Indian miniature art history.
