Biography:

Bihzad, also known as Kamal ud-Din Behzad, was a Persian painter born circa 1450 in Herat, present-day Afghanistan, and he passed away around 1535. He is renowned for his contributions to the Timurid and early Safavid art movements, particularly in the realm of Persian miniature painting. Bihzad served as the head of the royal ateliers in Herat and later in Tabriz, where he significantly influenced the development of Persian manuscript illumination and painting. His work is characterized by intricate detail, vibrant color, and a keen sense of composition, which elevated the art form to new heights. Bihzad's legacy endures through his influence on subsequent generations of artists and his role in shaping the visual culture of the Islamic world. His most notable works include illustrations for the manuscripts of "Khamsa" by Nizami and "Bustan" by Saadi.
