Canaletto, born Giovanni Antonio Canal in Italy in 1697, was a prominent painter of the Baroque movement, renowned for his detailed and atmospheric depictions of Venetian landscapes and architecture. Canaletto's career flourished in the 18th century, particularly during his time in England, where he influenced the development of landscape painting.
