Chiang Chaoshen (Jiang Zhaoshen) was a Chinese artist and art historian born in 1925 and passed away in 1996. He was a prominent figure in the modern Chinese painting movement, known for his contributions to the revitalization of traditional Chinese ink painting techniques. Chiang was deeply influenced by classical Chinese art and calligraphy, which he integrated into his own work, thereby bridging historical styles with contemporary expression. He served as the director of the National Palace Museum in Taipei, where he played a crucial role in the preservation and study of Chinese cultural heritage.
