Cornelis Jonson van Ceulen the Younger
Cornelis Jonson van Ceulen the Younger (1634–1715) was a Dutch-English painter known for his contributions to the Baroque art movement. Born in London, he was the son of the renowned portraitist Cornelis Jonson van Ceulen the Elder, from whom he likely received his artistic training. Jonson van Ceulen the Younger continued the family tradition of portrait painting, working primarily in England and the Netherlands. His work is characterized by its refined technique and attention to detail, reflecting the influence of his father's style. Although not as widely recognized as his father, he maintained a successful career, contributing to the continuation of Baroque portraiture in the late 17th and early 18th centuries. His paintings are noted for their elegant portrayal of sitters, capturing the subtleties of character and status.
