Daniel Greene was an American artist born on December 3, 1934, and he passed away on April 5, 2020. He was renowned for his contributions to the realist art movement, particularly through his mastery of pastel and oil painting. Greene's work is celebrated for its meticulous attention to detail and vibrant use of color, often depicting portraits and complex interior scenes. He was a member of the Pastel Society of America and was instrumental in elevating the status of pastel as a serious medium in contemporary art. Throughout his career, Greene received numerous accolades, including the Pastel Society of America's Hall of Fame honor. His influence extended through his teaching, as he educated many artists in workshops and through instructional books and videos.
