David Teniers the Younger (1610–1690) was a Belgian painter associated with the Baroque movement. He is renowned for his genre scenes, landscapes, and depictions of peasant life, which reflect the vibrant culture of 17th-century Flanders. Teniers served as court painter to the Archduke Leopold Wilhelm of Austria, which significantly elevated his status and allowed him to establish a prominent workshop. His works are characterized by their meticulous detail and lively compositions, influencing both contemporaries and later artists.
