Biography:

Domenichino, born Domenico Zampieri in Italy in 1581, was a prominent painter of the Baroque movement. He is best known for his frescoes and altarpieces, which exemplify the dramatic use of light and color characteristic of the period. Domenichino trained under the influential artist Annibale Carracci and became a leading figure in the Bolognese school of painting. His notable works include "The Communion of Saint Jerome" and the frescoes in the Basilica di San Domenico in Bologna. He spent significant time in Rome, where he contributed to the decoration of several important churches. Domenichino passed away in 1641, leaving a lasting impact on Baroque art and influencing future generations of artists.
