Biography:

Du Jin (c. 1465–c. 1509) was a Chinese painter of the Ming dynasty, known for his contributions to the Zhe School of painting. Born in the region of Suzhou, Du Jin was active during a period when the Zhe School was characterized by its revival of the Southern Song painting style, emphasizing expressive brushwork and dynamic compositions. His works often depicted historical and literary themes, showcasing his skill in figure painting and landscape. Du Jin's art was influential in the development of Ming dynasty painting, as he successfully integrated traditional techniques with innovative approaches. His legacy is preserved in several surviving works, which continue to be studied for their artistic and historical significance.
