Edgar Melville Ward (1834–1912) was an American painter known for his contributions to the Realism movement. He gained recognition for his landscapes and genre scenes that often depicted everyday life with a focus on naturalism and detail. Ward studied at the National Academy of Design and was influenced by the Hudson River School. His work was exhibited widely, and he became a member of several prestigious art organizations.
