Biography:

Eileen Alice Soper was an English artist and illustrator born in 1905 and passed away in 1990. She was primarily associated with the Realism movement, known for her detailed and lifelike depictions of wildlife and children. Soper gained prominence for her illustrations in Enid Blyton's "Famous Five" series, which significantly contributed to the books' enduring popularity. Her artistic career began early, with her work being exhibited at the Royal Academy when she was just 15 years old. In addition to her illustrations, Soper was an accomplished etcher, with her prints being collected by institutions such as the British Museum. Her legacy is marked by her ability to capture the innocence and vitality of childhood, as well as her keen observation of nature.
