Fra Bartolomeo, born Bartolomeo di Paolo del Fattorino in Italy in 1472, was a prominent painter of the Renaissance. He is best known for his religious compositions that reflect a deep understanding of perspective and human emotion. A member of the Dominican order, he often infused his works with spiritual significance, which was influenced by his monastic life. His notable works include "The Vision of St. Dominic" and "Holy Family with the Infant Saint John the Baptist." Fra Bartolomeo's contributions to the art of the Renaissance were significant, particularly in the development of the use of color and composition in religious painting. He passed away in 1517, leaving a lasting legacy in the art world.
