Biography:

Francesco Salviati, also known as Francesco de' Rossi, was an Italian painter active during the Baroque period, born in 1510 and passing away in 1573. He was known for his dynamic compositions and expressive figures, which contributed to the development of Mannerism and the early Baroque style. Salviati worked extensively in Florence and Rome, where he created significant frescoes and altarpieces, influencing contemporaries and later artists. His notable works include the frescoes in the Palazzo Vecchio and the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome. Despite his contributions, details about his early life and training remain largely unknown.
