Biography:
Francisque Millet (1642–1679) was a French landscape painter associated with the Baroque movement. Born in Antwerp, he later moved to Paris, where he became known for his classical landscapes that drew inspiration from the works of Claude Lorrain and Nicolas Poussin. Millet's paintings are characterized by their harmonious compositions and atmospheric effects, which contributed to the development of landscape painting in France. Despite his relatively short life, his work influenced subsequent generations of landscape artists. His career was cut short when he died in a fire at the age of 37.
