Biography:

Frank Millet was an American painter born in 1846 and active until his death in 1912. He was associated with the Impressionist movement and is known for his vibrant landscapes and depictions of American life. Millet studied at the Massachusetts Normal Art School and later in Paris, where he became influenced by European Impressionism. He was also a war correspondent during the Spanish-American War, which informed his later works. Millet's contributions to American art include his role in promoting Impressionism in the United States, and he was a founding member of the Ten American Painters. His legacy continues to be recognized in exhibitions and collections that celebrate American Impressionism.
