Frederic Porter Vinton
Frederic Porter Vinton was an American artist born on January 29, 1846, in Bangor, Maine, and he passed away on May 19, 1911, in Boston, Massachusetts. Vinton was a prominent figure in the American Impressionist movement, known for his adept use of color and light in portraiture and landscapes. He studied at the Lowell Institute in Boston and further honed his skills in Europe, attending the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Vinton's work was instrumental in introducing Impressionist techniques to American audiences, and he was a founding member of the Boston Art Club.
