Biography:

Fukae Roshū, a Japanese artist active during the Edo period, was born in 1699 and passed away in 1757. He was a prominent figure in the Rinpa school, an influential art movement known for its vibrant colors and decorative style, which drew inspiration from classical Japanese literature and nature. Roshū was a disciple of Ogata Kōrin, one of the most celebrated Rinpa artists, and he contributed to the perpetuation and evolution of the Rinpa aesthetic.
