Gerard Terborch
Gerard Terborch, a Dutch painter, was born in December 1617 in Zwolle and died on December 8, 1681, in Deventer. He was a prominent figure of the Dutch Golden Age, known for his exquisite genre scenes and portraiture. Terborch's work is celebrated for its refined technique and the subtle depiction of textures, particularly in rendering fabrics such as satin. His painting "The Peace of Münster" (1648) is a notable historical work, capturing the signing of the treaty that ended the Thirty Years' War.
