Gerbrand van den Eeckhout was a Dutch painter born in the Netherlands in 1621 and active during the Baroque period. He is known for his historical and genre paintings, often characterized by their detailed realism and emotional depth. Van den Eeckhout was a pupil of Rembrandt, and his work reflects the influence of his teacher while also showcasing his unique style. He became a member of the Amsterdam Guild of Saint Luke in 1647, which marked a significant step in his professional career. Van den Eeckhout passed away in 1664, leaving behind a legacy that contributed to the development of Dutch Baroque art.
