Biography:

Hans Memling was a Belgian painter active during the Renaissance, born around 1430 and passing away in 1494. He is renowned for his detailed and expressive portraits, as well as his religious altarpieces, which reflect the influence of both Northern European and Italian Renaissance styles. Memling spent much of his career in Bruges, where he became a prominent figure in the city's artistic community. His work significantly contributed to the development of portraiture and devotional art in the Low Countries. Memling's legacy endures through his masterful use of color and light, as well as his ability to convey emotion in his subjects.
