Henri Lehmann

Henri Lehmann was a French painter born in 1814 and active until his death in 1882. He was associated with the Romanticism movement, which emphasized emotion and individualism in art. Lehmann studied under prominent artists, including Paul Delaroche, and became known for his historical and mythological subjects. He exhibited regularly at the Salon and gained recognition for his ability to convey dramatic narratives through his work. In addition to painting, Lehmann also served as a professor at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, influencing a new generation of artists. His contributions to the Romantic movement and his role in art education solidified his place in 19th-century French art history.
