Henry Scheffer
Henry Scheffer was a French painter born on September 25, 1798, in The Hague, Netherlands, and he died on March 15, 1862, in Paris, France. He was associated with the Romantic art movement, which emphasized emotion and individualism, often in response to the rationalism of the Enlightenment. Scheffer was the younger brother of the more renowned painter Ary Scheffer, and he studied under the tutelage of Pierre-Narcisse Guérin, a prominent figure in the Romantic movement.
