Jacob Backer
Jacob Backer (1608–1651) was a Dutch painter associated with the Dutch Golden Age, a period marked by great wealth and cultural achievement in the Netherlands. Born in Harlingen, Backer was a prominent figure in Amsterdam's art scene, known for his portraits and historical paintings. He studied under Lambert Jacobsz in Leeuwarden and later moved to Amsterdam, where he became influenced by the work of Rembrandt and other contemporaries.
