Jacques de Gheyn II (1565–1629) was a Dutch painter and printmaker associated with the Renaissance movement. He is known for his detailed still lifes, portraits, and genre scenes, which reflect the growing interest in naturalism and observation during his time. De Gheyn was also a skilled draftsman and contributed to the development of printmaking techniques in the Netherlands. He served as a court painter and was a member of the Guild of Saint Luke in The Hague. His work influenced subsequent generations of artists, particularly in the realm of still life and botanical illustration. The exact details of his early life and training remain unknown.
