Jan Brueghel the Elder (1568–1625) was a Belgian painter associated with the Baroque movement. He was born in Brussels and was the son of the renowned artist Pieter Bruegel the Elder. Brueghel is best known for his detailed landscapes, still lifes, and allegorical works, which often featured intricate depictions of flora and fauna. He became a prominent figure in the Antwerp art scene and was a member of the Guild of Saint Luke. His collaborations with other artists, including Peter Paul Rubens, further enhanced his reputation.
