Jan de Momper

Jan de Momper was a Flemish painter born in 1614 in Antwerp, where he also died in 1684. He was part of the Baroque movement, a period characterized by dramatic expression and grandeur in art. De Momper was a member of a prominent family of artists, with his uncle, Joos de Momper, being a notable landscape painter. Although less renowned than his uncle, Jan de Momper contributed to the Baroque tradition through his landscape and genre paintings.
