Jan Vonck
Jan Vonck was a Dutch painter born in 1631 in Amsterdam and died in 1663. He was associated with the Dutch Golden Age, a period marked by great wealth and cultural achievement in the Netherlands. Vonck specialized in still life paintings, particularly those depicting game and birds, which were highly detailed and celebrated for their realism. His works are often noted for their meticulous attention to texture and composition, contributing to the genre's popularity during his time. Vonck was the son of the painter Pieter Cornelisz. van Rijck, and he continued the family tradition of painting, furthering the development of still life art in the Dutch tradition. Despite his relatively short life, Vonck's paintings remain significant examples of 17th-century Dutch still life.
