Jean-Baptiste Marie Pierre was a French painter and engraver born in 1714 and active until his death in 1782. He was a prominent figure in the Rococo movement, known for his decorative and elegant style that characterized the period. Pierre served as the director of the Académie Royale de Peinture et de Sculpture and was appointed as the official painter to King Louis XV. His works often featured mythological and allegorical themes, contributing to the development of French decorative arts. Despite his significant influence, details about his early life remain largely unknown.
