Biography:

Jean François de Le Motte was a French painter active during the late 18th and early 19th centuries, with life dates spanning from 1760 to 1828. He was associated with the Neoclassical movement, which sought to revive the classical art and culture of ancient Greece and Rome. De Le Motte's work is noted for its adherence to the principles of clarity, order, and symmetry, which were hallmarks of Neoclassicism. Throughout his career, he contributed significantly to the dissemination of Neoclassical ideals in France, influencing both contemporaries and subsequent generations of artists. His participation in several prominent exhibitions of the time helped solidify his reputation as a key figure in the movement.
