Biography:

Jean Honoré Fragonard was a French painter and printmaker, born in 1732 and active until his death in 1806. He is best known for his contributions to the Rococo movement, characterized by its ornate and playful style. Fragonard's works often depict themes of love and romance, with notable pieces such as "The Swing" exemplifying his mastery of light and color. He studied under François Boucher and became a prominent figure in the art scene of 18th-century France. Despite his initial success, Fragonard's popularity waned after the French Revolution, leading to a decline in commissions. His work has since been celebrated for its exuberance and technical skill, influencing later generations of artists.
