Jean-Joseph-Xavier Bidauld was a French painter born on April 10, 1758, in Carpentras, France, and he passed away on October 20, 1846, in Montmorency. Bidauld was a prominent figure in the Neoclassical movement, known for his landscape paintings that emphasized clarity, order, and harmony. He gained recognition after winning the Prix de Rome in 1785, which allowed him to study in Italy, profoundly influencing his artistic style. Throughout his career, Bidauld exhibited regularly at the Paris Salon, where he was celebrated for his meticulous attention to detail and his ability to capture the serene beauty of nature.
