Johann Zick
Johann Zick was a German painter born on February 14, 1702, in Lachen, near Memmingen, and he died on March 4, 1762, in Würzburg. He was a prominent figure in the Rococo movement, known for his frescoes and altarpieces that adorned numerous churches and palaces in southern Germany. Zick trained under the guidance of his father, Johannes Zick, and further honed his skills in Italy, which significantly influenced his style. His work is characterized by dynamic compositions and vibrant color palettes, contributing to the decorative and ornate qualities of Rococo art. Among his notable achievements are the frescoes in the Würzburg Residence and the pilgrimage church of Vierzehnheiligen.
