Johannes Christian Clausen Dahl
Johannes Christian Clausen Dahl, commonly known as J. C. Dahl, was a Norwegian painter born on February 24, 1788, in Bergen, Norway, and he passed away on October 14, 1857, in Dresden, Germany. Dahl is often regarded as a pioneering figure in Norwegian landscape painting and is associated with the Romantic movement. He was instrumental in elevating landscape painting to a significant genre in Norwegian art, emphasizing the dramatic and sublime aspects of nature.
