Biography:

Johannes Lingelbach was a Dutch painter born in the Netherlands in 1620 and active during the Baroque period. He is known for his genre scenes and landscapes, often depicting lively street scenes and market activities. Lingelbach was influenced by the works of other prominent Dutch artists, including Jan Steen and Pieter de Hooch. He spent a significant part of his career in Amsterdam, where he became a member of the Guild of Saint Luke. Lingelbach's contributions to the genre of Dutch painting have been recognized for their vibrant color palette and dynamic compositions. He passed away in 1674, leaving behind a legacy that continues to be appreciated in the study of Baroque art.
