Lorenzo di Credi (Lorenzo d'Andrea d'Oderigo)

Lorenzo di Credi (Lorenzo d'Andrea d'Oderigo) was an Italian painter and sculptor active during the Renaissance, born in 1459 and passing away in 1537. He was a prominent figure in Florence, known for his detailed and delicate works that often featured religious themes. Di Credi was a pupil of Andrea del Verrocchio and later became a master in his own right, influencing the development of Florentine painting. His contributions include altarpieces and devotional works, which reflect the transition from the early Renaissance to the High Renaissance. Despite his significant role, much of his life remains undocumented, and his reputation has often been overshadowed by his contemporaries.
