Biography:

Lorenzo Lotto was an Italian painter active during the Renaissance, born in 1480 and passing away in 1556. He is known for his expressive portraits and religious works that often feature rich color and intricate detail. Lotto's innovative approach to composition and use of light set him apart from his contemporaries, contributing significantly to the development of Venetian painting. He spent much of his career in the Veneto region, as well as in the Marche, where he created notable altarpieces and portraits. Despite his talent, Lotto's work was overshadowed by that of more prominent artists during his lifetime, but he has since gained recognition for his unique style and emotional depth. The exact details of his early life and training remain largely unknown.
