Biography:

Meyndert Hobbema was a Dutch painter born in the Netherlands in 1638 and active during the Baroque period. He is best known for his landscapes, particularly those depicting wooded scenes and rural settings, which showcase his mastery of light and atmosphere. Hobbema was influenced by his contemporaries, including Jacob van Ruisdael, and his work contributed to the development of Dutch landscape painting. Despite his relatively modest success during his lifetime, his paintings gained recognition posthumously and are now celebrated for their intricate detail and serene beauty. Hobbema passed away in 1709, leaving behind a legacy that continues to influence landscape artists today.
