Perino del Vaga, born Pietro Buonaccorsi in Italy in 1501, was a prominent painter and draftsman associated with the Baroque movement. He was a pupil of Raphael and became known for his dynamic compositions and vibrant use of color. Del Vaga worked extensively in Rome and was involved in significant projects, including frescoes for the Palazzo della Cancelleria and the Villa Farnesina. His style combined elements of Mannerism with the emerging Baroque aesthetic, influencing subsequent generations of artists. Perino del Vaga passed away in 1547, leaving a legacy that contributed to the development of Baroque art in Italy.
