Biography:

Philips Koninck was a Dutch painter born in the Netherlands in 1619 and active during the Baroque period. He is best known for his landscape paintings and portraits, which often feature a distinctive use of light and atmospheric perspective. Koninck was a member of the Amsterdam Guild of St. Luke and was influenced by the works of Rembrandt, with whom he is believed to have studied. His contributions to the genre of landscape painting helped to elevate its status in the Dutch art scene of the 17th century. Koninck passed away in 1688, leaving behind a legacy that continues to be appreciated in art history.
