Pierre Andrieu
Pierre Andrieu was a French painter born in 1821, who became associated with the Realism movement. He is best known for his role as an assistant to the renowned artist Eugène Delacroix, with whom he worked closely on several significant projects, including the decoration of the Chapelle des Saints-Anges at the Church of Saint-Sulpice in Paris. Andrieu's own work often reflected the Realist emphasis on depicting everyday life with accuracy and attention to detail. Despite his contributions to Delacroix's masterpieces, Andrieu's individual works did not achieve the same level of recognition during his lifetime. He continued to paint and exhibit his work until his death in 1892, leaving behind a legacy intertwined with one of the 19th century's most influential artists.
