Biography:

Pomponio Allegri, an Italian painter, was born in 1521 and died in 1593. He was the son of the renowned artist Antonio Allegri, known as Correggio, and continued the artistic legacy of his father. Pomponio was associated with the High Renaissance movement, although his work did not achieve the same acclaim as Correggio's. Despite this, he contributed to the dissemination of his father's style and techniques, particularly in the region of Parma. His career was marked by his efforts to complete and preserve Correggio's unfinished works, thereby maintaining the family's artistic heritage. Pomponio's impact is primarily seen in his role as a custodian of his father's oeuvre rather than through significant innovations of his own.
