Quiringh Gerritsz van Brekelenkam
Quiringh Gerritsz van Brekelenkam was a Dutch painter born circa 1622 in Zwammerdam, Netherlands, and he died in 1669 in Leiden. He was a prominent figure of the Dutch Golden Age, known for his genre scenes that depicted everyday life with meticulous detail and subtle humor. Van Brekelenkam was a member of the Leiden Guild of St. Luke, which he joined in 1648, and he was influenced by the works of his contemporaries, such as Gerard Dou. His paintings often featured domestic interiors and were characterized by their fine brushwork and attention to light and texture.
