Richard Parkes Bonington was an English painter born in 1802 and active until his untimely death in 1828. He was a prominent figure in the Romanticism movement, known for his landscape and marine paintings that captured the effects of light and atmosphere. Bonington studied in Paris and was influenced by the works of Eugène Delacroix and the Barbizon School.
