Biography:

Robert MacCameron (1866–1912) was an American painter associated with the Realism movement. Born in Chicago, Illinois, MacCameron studied at the Art Institute of Chicago before furthering his education in Paris at the Académie Julian, where he was influenced by the techniques of French Realism. His work is noted for its meticulous attention to detail and its ability to capture the everyday life of his subjects with authenticity and depth. MacCameron's paintings were exhibited at the Paris Salon, where he gained recognition for his skillful portrayal of light and texture. Despite his relatively short life, his contributions to American Realism were significant, as he helped bridge the gap between European influences and American artistic expression.
