Sebastiano del Piombo, born Sebastiano Luciani in Italy in 1485, was a prominent painter of the Renaissance. He is known for his mastery of color and form, which combined elements of both Venetian and Roman styles. Del Piombo worked closely with notable artists such as Michelangelo, who influenced his approach to composition and figure drawing. His significant works include altarpieces and portraits, with "The Raising of Lazarus" being one of his most acclaimed pieces. Del Piombo's contributions to the art world were recognized during his lifetime, and he held the position of court painter to Pope Clement VII. He passed away in 1547, leaving a lasting legacy in the development of Renaissance art.
