Sebastiano Ricci
Sebastiano Ricci (Italian, 1659–1734) was a prominent painter of the late Baroque period. Born in Belluno, Italy, Ricci became known for his vibrant use of color and dynamic compositions, which contributed significantly to the development of the Rococo style. His career was marked by extensive travels across Europe, including significant periods in Venice, Florence, and London, where he received numerous prestigious commissions. Ricci's work was influential in spreading the Venetian style across Europe, and he played a crucial role in the transition from Baroque to Rococo. Among his notable works are the frescoes in the Palazzo Marucelli-Fenzi in Florence and the decoration of the Royal Palace of Madrid.
