Biography:

Sir John Everett Millais was an English painter and a founding member of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, which emerged in the mid-19th century as part of the Romanticism movement. Born in 1829, he gained early recognition for his detailed and vibrant works, including the iconic painting "Ophelia." Millais served as the President of the Royal Academy from 1896 until his death later that same year. His innovative approach to color and composition significantly influenced the development of British art. Millais's legacy endures through his contributions to both the Pre-Raphaelite movement and the broader Romantic artistic landscape. He passed away in 1896.
